    [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]
would you welcome a homosexual paster of your Church? Honestly?

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Yes.

All of our pastors are sinners. I know not a single perfect one.

Add to that, one can be a homosexual and not act on it. Remember that, according to the Bible, God hates the act and not the person.

God also hates the many acts of sin committed by heterosexual pastors.

You think I would point out the names of people I know for you to ridicule? No thank you.
Your inability to not use derogatory terms says enough for me.
    You'll shoot your eye out.

Not arguing for that, but isn't that Old Testament and don't most churches say that the New Testament and Christ did away with most of the old 'Law'.

What we've got here is failure to communicate. Some men you just can't reach, so you get what we had here last week which is the way he wants it. Well, he gets it.

Indian Dad you are the Bomb! You have a complete handle on this situation. I have a brother that pastors a church at Duncan Gap...he lies, is undependable, cheats his own family, but I don't have to answer for him on that final judgment day. Me and me alone! I am a good Christian have been redemmed by the blood and feel His presence everyday and I know that I am going to be given my crown and reward and so will my brother just not the way he had imagined...I can't even imagine what it will be like...will I sing Holy or to my knees will I fall, will I dance in his presence or whatever happens I know that I am redeemed by the blood. My brother thinks because I'm "different"? I'm hell bound no one can judge me but the God of all...very thankful for that...so when you all spout hate and judgments, remember "judge not lest you be judged"? Praise God that I have to answer for myself and not another! We should all be thankful for that, no if ands or buts. My Dad was the greatest of all men he preached, defended and let everyone know that it's all what's in your you soul that matters not what man may interpret. Boy have I opened a HUGE can of worms. My redeemer will protect me from all my foes so throw everything you can at me...I am covered by HIS grace and HIS blood .

Re: When are we going to take a stand?

Just because you have urges doesn't mean you should act upon them.

But I agree. Welcome them like Christ did.

Just straight up telling a person they're going to hell isn't going to win people to Christ. Being brotherly/sisterly to them and praying for them, THAT will have a light shine through you.

Do I believe homosexuality is wrong? Yes. Is anyone perfect? No, including myself. I am far from it. Some of my sins are just as bad.

The ones that bother me are the ones who flaunt it in your face.

There is someone in my dorm who is bad for that. Now I am not going to judge the man for being homosexual because like I said, I'm sinful as well. I pray that he sees the light and some of the people aren't taking the flaunting very well. I must admit that I am a bit disturbed.
Deja Moo: The feeling that you've heard this bull before.

Re: When are we going to take a stand?

I promised myself I wasn't going to get tangled up in this mess, but what the heck! If it doesn't affect your-day-today life, leave it alone. If you don't agree with homosexual pastors, don't go to that church. If two people of the same sex kissing grosses you out, turn away. I find it hypocrytical that people cast stones and get behind religion. I guess I'm just not that religious because I really don't care what consenting adults do in their own bedrooms. And one more thing; I am straight! I've been married to the same woman for 12 years and I have two sons, but I have never declared my sexuality. Want to know why? It's nobody's business except for me and my wife.

Re: When are we going to take a stand?

Nope. The old testament and it's way of life were not completely done away with.
Just a new plan of salvation put into effect in the New Testament.
Jesus i think said suffer that all things be fulfilled. Christ come in the flesh, was justified in the spirit and was received up into glory.
No longer would man sacrifice an animal to become clean.
No more blood upon the alter, except for the blood of the person who was seeking cleaning.
Jesus was the last part of the Blood shed for the future and a new plan of salvation. Not a new way of living.
The Bible or Word of God as most know it, points out homosexuality as being wrong, immoral and anyone who teaches the word of God, must meet the criteria to teach and preach the word of God.
Read the Bible. If someone has to lay it out there for you. Then what good will you get out of it. If you can't search out the truth in the Word of God and in your own prayer and searching of the Word.
Read the criteria for a teacher, preacher or priest or pastor.
The husband of one wife? Blamless, etc etc.
Hmm kind of says a lot right there don't it.
Oh well. Make it what you want it to say.
New testament even says in the latter days the truth will be changed to fit, what the days and times behold. Not a direct quote, but close enough.
You learn from a person, who says he knows God? But are indirect opposite of what God ordaines to teach his Word.
    Ok

So let's see. When Jesus went into the Temple and turned over the things and called the people basically a flock of thieves he had no malice? And when he told Judas he would betray him and Judas hung himself he didn't stop it.
So Jesus is God or the Son of God, yet you see where he didn't let folks pay for their own sins? Yet it was prophecy from the old testament fulfilled.

We have such a loving God and son of God or God himself. Hmm oh well.
I guess he also would condone a homosexual, priest and pastor, and yet destroy Sodom and Gommorha for doing the same thing we are talking about, well in some sense.
Gee people. Have we become reprobate in mind to believe a lie and be damned. Because we have become so concerned with being correct.
Have we believed what we want to believe no matter, whether it be right or not. Because we don't want to seem outside the norm.

Re: When are we going to take a stand?

    Ok do we tithe?
Do we make women beholden to their husbands?
There are quite a few things in the old testament that the new testament and Christ did away with. Shoot, we can look at the fact that a Gentile can be saved as much.

God's will be done. I'm not going to question it. What is in the heart of a person is between him or her and God. Only person I can control is myself. I can pray for others, I can ask that God be with them, help them see the errors of their way, but too many of us see others errors and not our own.

Re: When are we going to take a stand?

One reason the world is in the shape it is in today is because we have become complacent. We sit by and say, "that really doesn't affect me, so I am not going to say anything." We don't take a stand so it goes on and then for each generation, the sin increases and eventually becomes accepted.

You can never rise above the image that you have of yourself in your own mind."

Re: When are we going to take a stand?

And when Jesus was judged, who condemed him. Who stood up for him. Who was the one's who decided his fate?
We can or we cannot judge or make a decision as many say.
Yet in our hearts, do we not yearn, to say what we think, but we are afraid, to afraid we will make some mad.
Those who judged Jesus where of the church.
The same church who cried for whom to be crucified.
Because the fear of the truth, would cost them more than not saying anything.
Jesus came to his own yet they refused him.
Who were those who refused him and his words? His people and his church?
All i can say is read your Bibles Folks and pray for understanding when you read.
Do i know what i say as being the gospel? No. I am not a priest or pastor. Nor would i ask you to believe me.
But no Pastor, Teacher, preacher, or priest would ask you to follow them, and not be what God ordaines, as a person to teach his word.
He God, does have criteria, for those who teach, preach and lead.
